Author Bio:

Peter S Berman became a Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney in 1973. After serving as a trial attorney for ten years, he was promoted to the position of Head Deputy District Attorney, a senior supervisory role. At various times during his career, he oversaw the daily operations of a series of county courthouses, as well as a number of specialized divisions, including the Hardcore Gang Division, the Sex Crimes Division, the Major Frauds Division, and the Career Criminal Division. He retired from the Office of the District Attorney in 2002. 
During his career as a District Attorney, he lectured and trained prosecutors and investigators throughout the United States for the the National Prosecutors College, the California Department of Justice, and numerous other agencies. He also worked as a technical advisor on an NBC movie of the week which was based upon one of his sexual assault cases. 
His work as the head of the Hardcore Gang Division was profiled on a number of television shows, including CBS's Sixty Minutes.
He continues to devote some of his time to law enforcement as a Specialist Volunteer with LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division, Cold Case Specials Unit, where he actively investigates unsolved homicide cases. He has been honored by the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division as their 2008 Reserve Officer of the Year.
Mr. Berman is an avid world traveler, a devoted LA Kings hockey fan, and he currently resides with his family in Southern California.
