Author Interview: Kassandra Wylde
Fantasies of a Cuckquean
Please tell us a
little bit about your book.
The story is about a loving, committed
married couple that decides to have a threesome. Rather than it being the
husband’s idea, it was the wife’s – and her reason for the request is because
she gets sexual pleasure from watching him with another woman.
How did you come
up with your book idea?
Most erotica on this subject focuses on
the male side, where a wife humiliates the husband by sleeping around and he
gets pleasure from it. This is the gender opposite, and I felt it important to
delve into the female psyche and show the thought process behind a woman with
this fetish.
Is there a
message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?
Not all men want to
cheat; some have to be talked into it. A kind, caring, loving husband will
often move mountains to fulfill his wife’s fantasies.
If
your book became a movie, what would your ideal cast be?
If my series
became a movie, it would be made up of multiple short vignettes that
highlighted the diversity of background, education, race, and age among the
women who have this fetish. It would help to remove the stigma against women
with fetishes in general, to foster open communication on the subject of
fantasy fulfillment, and change the long-held, misogynistic view of what’s
normal.
What are your
publishing credits?
I have written and self-published five
erotic romance/erotica titles over the past year, one of which being a
standalone full-length novel under a different pen name.
What are your
plans for the future?
To keep writing tales of love and lust
among happily married committed couples.
What is your day
job?
I’m a professional within the writing
industry.
What is your
preferred genre to write?
Erotic romance. Erotic pleasures without
love fall flat for me. Also, beyond just genre, I don’t enjoy erotic shorts.
All of my books are longer, more complete stories rather than just one romp in
the sheets.
How did you
become a writer?
I have always been a writer. I started
writing stories as soon as I learned how to hold a pencil. They may have looked
like scribbles to my parents, but they were full stories in my head.
Are you a
planner, complete with detailed outlines, or do you fly by the seat of your
pants when writing?
I have to work from a (very) loose
outline for full-length novels, but find they’re too constricting for my erotic
novellas. For those, I have a strong idea of who the characters are, and then I
just let their story flow organically.
What is the best writing advice that you have ever been
given?
Just
write. Don’t think about it, don’t judge it, and don’t analyze it – just write.
What advice would you give a new writer?
Don’t
send your work to too many people asking for their opinion, since each one will
tell you something different. Trust yourself and your own vision, and let the
chips fall where they may.
What other
projects do you have in the works at the moment?
I’m currently in the process of
developing a new series on the cuckquean theme, based on the idea that the
insanely rich have more resources at their disposal that allow them to explore
their fetishes with much more gusto than the rest of us.
What are you reading?
The Fling, by Elle J. Lawson. Hot, hot, hot!
What’s the most amusing thing that’s happened to you
while you were writing this story? Trying
to explain to my editor what a cuckquean is.
Chocolate or
vanilla?
Vanilla with chocolate syrup.
What is your
favorite drink?
Virgin piƱa colada
Who is your
dream man and why?
I have so many, but most of them are
true scientific nerds. For me, the order of importance is: intelligence, confidence,
passion, followed then by a healthy sense of humor. My main crush is Dr. Brian
Cox.
Is there
anything else you’d like to share with your fans?
Please do authors the favor of leaving a
review! We rely on your support and feedback, and value each and every one.
On behalf of Simply Sexy Reads, thank you!
Kassandra Wylde lives in the Deep South with her
husband of twenty-five years. She has taught English for her local government,
and also worked as a professional writer for over two decades. She’s the author
of The Mansion Series, The Cuckquean Diaries Series, as well as other
standalone novels under various pen names. A reader herself, Kassandra writes
in multiple genres, but all of her stories blur the line between fantasy and
reality, drawing from Kassandra’s personal life experiences as well as those
she can only dream about. Not just erotica, but not strictly romance either,
her books provide a contemporary romantic spin on the classic tales of love,
lust, and erotic pleasures. Never too sweet; always provocative.
